Accountant

Main responsibilities

  • Performs general accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with internal policies and accounting regulations.
  • Prepares, checks, and registers primary accounting documents (supplier invoices, bank statements, expense reports and other supporting documents).
  • Reviews and validates accounting entries to ensure proper allocation and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Performs periodic reconciliations (GL, bank, suppliers, customers) and investigates discrepancies, proposing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Supports month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of accruals, pre-payments and other adjusting entries.
  • Prepares periodic internal reports and supports ad-hoc reporting requests from management.
  • Maintains communication with the external accounting provider and ensures timely transmission of required documentation and clarifications.
  • Assists in the preparation of tax declarations (e.g. VAT returns and related reports) and ensures compliance with fiscal requirements for assigned tasks.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of business transactions and their impact on both financial and management accounting
  • Participate in statutory and internal audits, ensuring timely documentation and explanations
  • Contributes to maintaining proper accounting documentation and archiving of financial records.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving accounting processes, internal controls and reporting workflows
  • Contribute to automation initiatives by using digital and AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude or similar technologies).
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Performs other accounting-related tasks as requested by management.

Required Skills & Experience

  • University graduate in an economical field (Accounting/Finance);
  • 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience;
  • IFRS exposure would be considered a plus;
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and basic fiscal regulations;
  • Good communication skills and proactive attitude;
  • Self-motivated and solution-oriented person;
  • Analytical and logical thinking;
  • Accuracy, timeliness and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Good computer skills;
  • Very good knowledge of Excel;
  • Good knowledge of English.
